The Right Royal Wedding Burger Recipe Fit For A King & Queen!

… or to put it another way…

The Kate (steak) And (buffalo) Bill Burger!

From Northampton to Southampton and from Wessex To Essex it’s going to be a right Royal knees up in the UK celebrating the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, with street parties across the land.

With the epic and über weather in the UK at the moment you can be sure that some of the Royal Wedding street parities will be having barbecues… and if that’s the case, why not try my very own recipe ► The Right Royal Wedding Burger Recipe - Fit For A King & Queen!

Ok, ok, so some of you royalists are probably going to give me a real hard time for jumping onto the (gold leafed and horse drawn) band wagon :-) but you know, this burger I’ve put together was and is über deeeeelish and epic nom nom :-)

Besides, what’s more tasteful, a Royal Wedding tea towel or a Royal Wedding Burger? (Pun totally intentional :-)

Anyway, before you get bored with this posting already :-) let’s get on with the recipe shall we? :-)

Ok, here are the ingredients

  • Minced beef (steak)
  • Buns
  • Thousand Island Dressing
  • Lettuce
  • Red Onion (cut into rings)
  • Buffalo Mozzarella Cheese
  • Pickle
  • Bacon (grilled nice and crisp)
  • Bunting optional

To Prepare The Buns
Slice in half through middle so you have a top half and bottom half and place under grill with the insides of the bun facing up.  Place sliced buffalo mozzarella cheese onto the up-facing parts and grill.

Grill The Burgers Using My Special Burger Grilling Method.

  • Start cooking your burger on the highest heat for the shortest amount of time in order to seal your burger.
  • Next, turn the heat down to between 1/3 or 1/2 of the highest heat and cook for longer on this temperature until the meat juices run clear (test by pressing down occasionally on the burger with the spatula / flipper.  Mind you don’t do this too often as your burger needs to retain it’s juices otherwise your finished burger will be too dry.
  • Now turn down the heat to near the lowest temperature to ensure the burger is cooked through evenly.
  • Finally, remove from heat and allow your burgers to rest for a couple or minutes to allow the heat inside to spread evenly throughout.

When your buns have toasted slightly, the buffalo cheese has melted and your burgers are ready, it’s time to build your empire Royal Wedding Burgers.

Starting from the bottom half of your bun, build your burger upwards as follows.

Bottom bun (with melted cheese), Lettuce, Thousand Island Dressing, Burger, Onion Ring(s), Pickle, Bacon, Lettuce, Top Bun.

You could, if you want, slice the bun into three layers and put together a London double decker Royal Wedding Burger; the choice is yours and I’ve tried both methods and they’re both epic.

Anyway, see, what did I tell you?
